Features

Honda diagnostic equipment and software features:

• Read and clear DTCs
• Snapshot function to capture data triggered by an event
• Display vehicle data values, line graph, or bar graph
• Provide DLC location diagrams
• Data list display in real-time (ECM/PCM parameters)
• Control module update functions
• MVCI does this as a standalone tool with 3G HDS

Hardware

Requires one of the following testers and/or interface devices.

Software

The 3G HDS software package supports the MVCI only, a stand-alone tool which requires the Honda Diagnostic System software (3G HDS) to reprogram the control module, PCM and ECU. This software covers all vehicles from 1992 to the current model year, with the exception of the Honda Passport and Acura SLX.

The Honda Passport and Acura SLX require a Smart Cable, a handheld device which allows you to update and initialize the control module on all 1996-2002 Passports and 1996-1999 SLXs. Click here for more information.

Subscription

You must be a current ServiceExpress subscriber. At minimum, a 3 day subscription is required to rent the HIM or Smart Cable tool, subscribe to software updates, and to access the latest documentation. Control Module Programming

Features

Most 2002 and later Honda and Acura vehicles have reprogrammable PCMs, ECMs, and ECUs.
NOTE: Whenever you install a new programmable control unit or module, you must update it.

NOTE: It is possible to damage the vehicle's electronic control modules during reprogramming. Once the programming process has started, the process must NOT be interrupted until the process is complete. If you experience any problems, contact your tool maker or supplier. Do not contact American Honda or Honda/Acura dealers.

• Honda will not be responsible for damaged control modules.

Models That Can Be Reprogrammed

The ECM/PCM is reprogrammable on all 2006 and later Honda and Acura vehicles. Refer to the following table for all earlier models/years.
