You can remotely start the engine using the keyless remote.

1. If there are buildings and obstacles between your vehicle and the remote, the range will be reduced. This distance may vary by external electrical interference.

When started remotely, the engine automatically shuts off after 10 minutes of idling and/or the brake pedal and ENGINE START/STOP button have not been pressed simultaneously.

To extend the run time for another 10 minutes during the first run, press thebutton, then press and hold thebutton.

1. Some exterior lights flash six times if a 10-minute extension request was transmitted successfully.

While the engine is running, the vehicle will automatically precondition the interior.

When it is warm outside:

1. The climate control system is activated in recirculation mode.

When it is cold outside:

1. The defroster is activated at a moderately warm temperature.
2. The rear defogger, heated door mirrors, front seat heaters, and heated steering wheel* are activated.

   Using the Front Seat Heaters/Ventilators*

Press thebutton for one second.

1. If the engine stop successfully, the exterior lights flash once.
2. When the keyless remote is out of the keyless access system range, the exterior lights will not flash. The engine will not stop. Go within the range, and try again.

The engine may not start by the remote engine start if:

1. The power mode is not in VEHICLE OFF.
2. The transmission is in a position other than P.
3. The hood is open, or any door or the tailgate is unlocked.
4. You have already used the keyless remote twice to start the engine.
5. Another registered keyless remote is in the vehicle.
6. There is any antenna failure.
7. The door is unlocked with the built-in key.
8. The engine oil pressure is low.
9. The engine coolant temperature is extremely high.
10. The telematics unit malfunctions.
11. The security system alarm is not set.
12. The 12-volt battery charge is too low.
13. You have disabled a remote engine start setting.

    Customized Features

The engine may stop while it is running if:

1. You do not start the vehicle within 10 minutes of starting the engine with the keyless remote.
2. The engine is stopped by using the keyless remote.
3. The security system alarm is not set.
4. The door is unlocked with the built-in key.
5. The hood is open, or any door or the tailgate is unlocked.
6. The transmission is in a position other than P.
7. The engine coolant temperature is extremely high.
8. The 12-volt battery is low.
9. The engine oil pressure is low.
10. The malfunction indicator lamp comes on if there is a problem with the emissions control systems.
