About the Post-Collision Braking System

When the airbag system is activated after a collision is detected, this system simultaneously applies the brakes and limits propulsion to reduce damage from a secondary collision.

Detail

This system may not be able to reduce damage from secondary collisions in all situations.
Its effectiveness depends on the circumstances of the collision.

When a collision occurs, check your surroundings and carefully operate your vehicle as needed to park in a safe place.

Conditions for activation

The Post-Collision Braking System activates when the airbag system or automatic seat belt tensioners activate due to a frontal collision or side impact.
However, it will not activate if components of the system are damaged.

Conditions for cancellation

After the Post-Collision Braking System is activated, the system will be canceled if either of the following conditions is met.

  • The vehicle is stopped.
  • You depress the accelerator pedal after releasing it.
